Join the Good Food Team as a Sous Chef!

Are you passionate about creating delicious and nutritious meals in a collaborative and supportive environment? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Sous Chef at Washington Waldorf School. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and contribute to the health and well-being of our students and community.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Head Chef to plan and execute daily menus
  • Ensure portion control and food cost management
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Demonstrate excellent knife skills and culinary techniques
  • Assist with back of house operations

Required Skills:

  • Menu planning experience
  • Strong understanding of portion control and food cost management
  • Knowledge of food quality standards and sanitation practices
  • Excellent knife skills and food handling techniques
  • Experience in culinary arts and food preparation

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in catering and food service management
  • ServSafe Certified with knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to manage food and beverage costs effectively
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Salary:

  • Hourly, 30 hours a week, $24/hour
