Teaching Assistants (Grades 1 & 2)

The Washington Waldorf School, located in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking Teaching Assistants to support our teachers in grades 1 and 2, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.  

This is a part-time hourly position with a maximum of 29 hours per week, generally, Monday-Friday mornings.  Attendance at weekly department meetings (Tuesday afternoon) as well as meeting with the class teacher will be required.   

Primary responsibilities include:

• Ability to follow directions from the Class Teacher.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Familiarity or strong interest in Waldorf education is preferred.
• Ability to pass a Maryland Background check. 

We seek assistants who are enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and patient with a desire to grow as a teacher. 

This is an hourly position with pay at $25 per hour.  We offer sick and safe benefits accumulated at 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked.  This positon does not offer any other benefits, but is a great opportunity to gain experience in a thriving Waldorf school.
