Job Description

The Washington Waldorf School seeks a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Office Coordinator to support the daily operations of our school’s front office. Serving as the welcoming face of the school, this position provides exceptional customer service to families, faculty, and visitors while helping ensure that the school runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a full-time, year-round position with preferred hours of 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, though some flexibility may be possible. This is an immediate opening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors, parents, and students; manage phone calls, messages, and deliveries.
  • Manage the school calendar and stay well-versed in school events, activities, and programs to support communication and coordination.
  • Support school health services with basic first aid, Healing Room organization, and health forms management under the direction of the School Nurse.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and school safety logistics—ensuring supplies are stocked, drills are supported, and communication materials are ready.
  • Liaise with the Facilities Team by relaying maintenance and facilities needs from staff and ensuring follow-up.
  • Oversee the organization and appearance of shared school spaces, including the lobby, meeting areas, and other common spaces.
  • Manage space rentals and shared space calendars to ensure efficient use of facilities.
  • Manage mail, purchasing, and ordering of supplies and food for events and daily operations.
  • Maintain the organization and appearance of the Front Office and school lobby.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Provide occasional support to teachers and school staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
  • Comfort interacting with children and families.
