Early Childhood Aftercare Teacher

Washington Waldorf School Aftercare Teachers create a safe, warm, and welcoming environment and provide meaningful and engaging experiences to all.

This is an hourly, part-time position, for approximately 15 hours per week in our mixed aged aftercare program, with children ranging in ages from 3-6.  In addition to caring for children during these times, the Aftercare Teacher will also be responsible for aftercare during parent/teacher conference days.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children.
• Familiarity or strong interest in Waldorf education.
• Ability to pass a Maryland Background check and meet Maryland Office of Child Care compliance requirements
• Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions

A bachelor’s degree and training in Waldorf early childhood education are preferred.  Otherwise, we seek an aftercare teacher who has a warm and open disposition, is enthusiastic, energetic and patient, with an ability to care for children of mixed age.

The compensation for this position is $25/hour.
