Open to all current and prospective WWS parents/guardians.
Join us for this interactive workshop that explores how the Waldorf approach at Washington Waldorf School prepares students for college through deep thinking, creativity, and meaningful engagement. We’ll discuss current admissions trends and why colleges value the curiosity, resilience, impact and integrity Waldorf graduates bring to campus – now more than ever.
From the Speaker:
Robert Kostrzeski (“Mr. K”)
I am excited to work with the Washington Waldorf School! I am known to be fun, fair, firm and friendly – supporting teenagers. I am a student-focused advocate and advisor. I currently serve as the Director of College Counseling at the Waldorf School of the Peninsula in California. I previously served as the University Counseling Coordinator/HS Counselor at the International School Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile – an American international school. I have been on various boards (i.e. MaiaLearning and EAB Global Concourse – educational college counseling related platforms). I enjoyed my role as Co-Chair of the International ACAC (Association of College Admission Counseling) Pre-Conference Institute, and as a faculty member having trained hundreds of counselors. I have worked in education and admissions counseling for 26 years.
I have led admissions and directed international exchange/study abroad programs and served as a US independent and international school university counselor. In the US, I worked for the School of International Training (VT), the University of Arizona, The Gregory School (AZ), Drew School and Wildwood School (CA) along with the Awty International School (TX). I regularly present at professional conferences including International ACAC, Council of International Schools (CIS) most recently offering a session on the use of AI in the college admissions process in July 2024. I worked in Chile, Switzerland, Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and of course the United States.
I love working with teens honing my teen 007 skills and spending time with my family as a father of an 11 year old. I am dedicated to studying wellness, adolescent mental health and the self-discovery that goes along with the college/university application process. I believe every young person needs a trusted sounding board and someone who sees the best in them.
