Solstice Gathering
Friday, December 12, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday, Dec 12 from 4-5pm
You are invited to a simple, come-as-you-are Community Solstice Gathering.
Who?
All ages are welcome.
Where?
WWS outdoor amphitheater space (behind the library).
What?
- We will start with a social time and a snack of popcorn and warm cider.
- There will be a short program with readings and songs.
- This year the event will end with a simple lantern walk around the school. You are invited to bring your own lantern and we will have some electric and wax tea lights available. Making a lantern can be a great activity but, if you aren’t able, you can bring whatever portable light source you have available. Some ideas for lantern designs: Glass Decoupage Lantern, Balloon Lantern, Paper Lantern, Paper Dodecahedron Lantern (older kids and adults)
A Few Notes
- Please plan to go without phone use and without taking photos while gathered, in order to be fully present.
- We expect that children in Grade 6 and younger will be here with parents or other adults who will supervise them.
- Handheld camping lanterns and event or camp chairs are welcome at the gathering.
