Part-Time Early Childhood Teaching Assistant

Washington Waldorf School Early Childhood Assistants support Lead Teachers in cultivating a warm, inclusive environment and provide meaningful and creative experiences, allowing children to be deeply immersed in play and to nourish their sense of wonder, trust in themselves, care for others, connection to nature and love of learning.

This is a part-time hourly, position, for approximately 15 hours per week during the school year from 12-3PM M-F.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Supporting classroom setup, cleanup, and daily rhythm tasks, including snack preparations
• Assisting with supervision of the class

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children
• Familiarity or strong interest in Waldorf education is preferred
• Experience working with neurodivergent children preferred
• Ability to physically engage in outdoor activities in seasonal weather
• Ability to pass a Maryland Background check and meet Maryland Office of Child Care compliance requirements (some Teaching Assistants may be required to obtain and maintain the OCC Lead Teacher certification; WWS will assume the financial responsibility for this certification)
• Bachelor’s degree
• Waldorf Teacher Certification or training strongly preferred

The compensation for this position includes a wage of $25/hour.
