Hear from Our Alums

Our Alums frequently join us for events and share their experiences with our students and our community. Here are two speeches given by alums during the ’23-’24 school year.

We were pleased to welcome Alum Tom Mansour (’04) as or graduation speaker for the class of 2024. Tom works at Meta as a Product Integrity Program Manager after having served in the Coast Guard for 10 years and as a Coast Guard Congressional Fellow for 2 years. Tom is expecting his first child (congratulations!) and this has brought him new insight about – and appreciation for – the education he received at WWS.

Our Alum speaker at the 2024 Spring Gala was Iliana Flefel (’12). It was especially wonderful – gathered in the gym during its inaugural year – to hear how Iliana was inspired through the WWS athletics program and how she applies what she learned from them in her current job as the Middle School Math Teacher and Basketball Coach at the Denver Waldorf School. She also shared how her Grade 4 animal report on the humpback whale, and the encouragement of her lower and high school teachers, led to her study of Marine Biology as an undergrad and graduate student. We offer our warmest wishes to Iliana as she returns to her work as a scientist this fall.
