Tammy Gompper

Tammy has worked in the museum, archive, and library fields for over 30 years. In addition to working at WWS, Tammy has been a photo archivist for AbramsBooks in NYC, a slide librarian and curatorial assistant for the West African and Native American Art collections at a museum in Ohio, an archivist for the Dumbarton Oaks Landscape Design Collection and the Acquisitions Librarian for a Genealogy Library in DC. She loves being a librarian because she enjoys organizing knowledge and helping people find the information that they are looking for. Tammy also loves reading, especially children’s books, and she particularly enjoys witnessing the glee that book finding and reading bring to our students.

Tammy came to Waldorf Education when her two daughters were young. She was a founding parent, board member, and substitute teacher at the Potomac Crescent Waldorf School. She lives in Falls Church, VA with her husband Nick and two cats.
