Tallis

Tallis’s first encounter with Waldorf education was at age two, at a Parent-Child class at Potomac Crescent Waldorf School. He went on to Grade 1 at Washington Waldorf School, and continued his education at public schools in the DMV. Since his parent was a Waldorf teacher, he remained exposed to Waldorf culture, even working in some Early Childhood summer camps at PCWS and WWS during his teenage years.

Tallis attended university at St. John’s College, graduating from the Annapolis, MD campus. He studied the rigorous, all-required “Great Books” Program, with credits equivalent to a Double Major in Philosophy and History of Math & Science, and a Double Minor in Comparative Literature and Classics. Through these interdisciplinary studies, Tallis rediscovered his love of learning and the liberating power of education. For three of his years at St. John’s, Tallis worked as a Teaching Assistant in Ancient Greek, Classical Physics, and Music Theory, respectively. He is passionate about teaching subjects such as math in an approachable and meaningful way.

In his free time, Tallis likes to read, cook, tinker with technology, and garden.
