Laur (they/them) is an operations leader with over ten years of experience supporting K–12 school communities. They oversee the day-to-day operations that keep the school community running smoothly, including facilities management and oversight, compliance and regulatory systems, program operations, data and information systems, and staff development, while also partnering closely with families and collaborating with staff to create an organized, welcoming environment for students and caregivers alike. Laur brings a steady, thoughtful approach to complex, fast-moving environments and focuses on building collaborative teams where people feel supported and able to do their best work.
Originally from Pasadena, CA, Laur will always be an LA person at heart, but has built a meaningful home in the DC area.
Before settling in DC, Laur lived in Chicago, IL, Brooklyn, NY, and Oakland, CA. Outside of school, you can find them in their garden (optimistically over-planting each season), line dancing whenever there’s a chance, kayaking when the weather cooperates, or chasing a little bit of sunshine wherever they can find it.
