Kathleen Baker
Creative Speech teacher, 3rd Grade Assistant Teacher & Assistant Librarian

Kathleen comes to the classroom after a lengthy career caring for animals, first as a veterinary technician and then as a zoo keeper at both The Philadelphia Zoo and Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park. A familiarity with Waldorf education across the years fostered her growing interest and guided her to the Explorations program; from there, the spark was lit! Kathleen completed her Waldorf Elementary Certificate from Antioch University New England this summer and continues to deepen her understanding of Creative Speech through ongoing courses and workshops.
Kathleen lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, two children, Milo (4th Grade) and Iona (Nursery), and cats Gimli and Maru, both of whom think they are dogs.
