After college, Hannah spent a year in Germany on a fellowship and became fascinated by the history of photography. She pursued a PhD on the topic at Rutgers University, which led to additional research fellowships and, later, to published scholarship.
Hannah has many years of experience teaching, especially at the college and community college levels, and working in arts institutions. At the Zimmerli Art Museum, where she served as a curatorial assistant, Hannah had the opportunity to organize several exhibitions. These shows engaged a range of media and subject matter, but often focused on issues of history and memory.
