Gogi spent much of her childhood in her native Germany roaming the local woods, where she was always curious about the natural world. She followed her dream of working in a tropical rainforest by doing a Master’s thesis on the ecology of bats in the jungles surrounding the Panama Canal. Determined to apply her scientific training to help solve environmental problems, she moved on to pursue a graduate degree in applied environmental sciences at UC Berkeley. There, she researched sustainable food systems and solutions to climate change.
