Buffy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), licensed in both Maryland and Virginia, with National Board Certification and Maryland Department of Education Certification. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Johns Hopkins University, and is a member of the American Counseling Association.
With over ten years of experience in public, private, and independent practice settings, Buffy brings a wealth of clinical expertise to her work with children and families. She believes that each individual is the true expert on their own life. Her practice draws on narrative and humanistic approaches that honor a child’s own story and lived experience. These are paired with mindfulness-based strategies that build self-awareness and resilience, supporting students’ emotional, social, and developmental growth alongside their academic journey.
Outside of work, Buffy enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, and spending time with her dogs & family.
