Alexandra Coburn is a professional singer and teacher based in the Washington, D.C.
metropolitan area. Originally from Houston, Texas, she earned her undergraduate degree in
voice from Louisiana State University before continuing her vocal studies at the Potomac Vocal
Institute in Virginia.
In 2019, Alexandra joined the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, where she
remains an active member of the chorus. She recently appeared in their production of Macbeth
and will return for the 2025–26 season in Verdi’s Aida. She has also performed with regional
companies including Washington Concert Opera and Wolf Trap.
Alongside her performance career, Alexandra is dedicated to teaching. At The Browne
Academy, she leads the handbell program, assists with middle school music, and teaches
private lessons in both piano and voice.
By day, Alexandra works in marketing and development for a local orchestra; by night, she can
often be found in rehearsal, preparing for performances with some of the region’s leading opera
companies. She is recently engaged and currently planning her wedding for January.
