Chandra K. Voetsch brings more than three decades of compassionate, hands-on experience to her work with young children, guided by a deep respect for childhood and a commitment to nurturing each child’s unfolding individuality.
Chandra has just joined the Washington Waldorf School and will be the Assistant Teacher with the Seedlings class. She is focused on creating learning environments where curiosity and community thrive. Her work is marked by consistent leadership in classroom safety, daily supervision of large student groups, and the design of engaging developmental activities. All of these approaches harmonize naturally with Waldorf education’s emphasis on imagination, relationship, and purposeful activity.

Her professional path reflects a lifelong devotion to children’s growth. Chandra spent over fourteen years at Westmoreland Children’s Center, where she supported families, developed classroom rhythms, and led weekly yoga sessions that fostered mindfulness, movement, and joy.

Chandra holds certifications in early childhood education, first aid/CPR, and yoga instruction, and she brings cultural fluency through her language abilities in English and Tamil. Her work is characterized by warmth, steadiness, and a gentle presence that helps children feel seen, safe, and free to explore. She is inspired by the Waldorf commitment to educating head, heart, and hands, and she strives each day to support children in discovering their innate capacities and confidence.
