LIBRARY

The Washington Waldorf School Library is a warm and welcoming place for students, parents, and staff.  Our mission is to provide resources and services that inform, educate, enlighten, and entertain all members of our community and to serve as a place for our students to discover the joy of reading. To satisfy curious minds, we have a diverse, curated collection of over 13,000 materials available on our shelves.

sLibrary Program

The goal of the comprehensive library program is to support our students’ literacy needs, to foster a love of reading, and to assist them in becoming critical thinkers and problem solvers.

  • Grades 2 – 5 visit the library once a week for a 50-minute class. Students will listen to and discuss stories, learn library and information literacy skills, and choose books for reading pleasure.
  • Students in grades 6 - 12 also visit the library in small groups or as a class to conduct research or to gather materials for projects.
  • All students may visit the library (with teacher permission) to check out books during snack and lunch recess.
  • The Library is open after school from 3:00 to 3:30 on Monday – Thursday for students and parents.
