Camp Description
Back by popular demand! For this week, we will take rides aimed at riders that are extremely comfortable on their bikes, and will ride at least 100 miles over the course of the week. This means 15-30 or so miles per day, depending on the route and what other activity we do in the afternoon. We will spend one afternoon at the Little Falls Pool, and will try to get ice cream every day! In the effort to get as much variety as possible, we will meet in the morning and afternoon in a variety of places. Some days we will start and end at school, but some days we may start and end in various places in the city. We will have some days with van support, and other times when carpooling, metroing, or pick ups will need to be arranged.
We will spend most of our time exploring the variety of bike friendly ways to get around the city. We will be on gravel and pavement, so all riders should have a versatile or hybrid bike that can handle a variety of road surfaces. Shocks are not needed, and ultra thin tire road bikes would not be a great choice for most days either. In any case, the bikes must be in good shape and tuned up prior to the week, and all participants must wear helmets and carry water bottles and their lunch and spare cash or card to purchase snacks. With one instructor in the front and one bringing up the rear, safety is first priority.
Limit 6 campers.
