
Laura’s background before coming to WWS includes working with young people in many different capacities. She taught public school, ran a church Sunday School program, worked in the Mayor’s Office of Baltimore City as the Juvenile Justice Planner, and served as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director for Social Services Administration at the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR). It was while working at DHR that she met John, her husband of 21 years. Their two daughters brought the family to WWS in 2004. Since then, Laura has held a variety of positions at WWS including the Lower School Substitute Teacher, and has been a Class Teacher since 2008. She is a member of the College of Teachers and one of the School’s Association of Waldorf Schools of North America’s (AWSNA) Delegates.
