Lower School Assistants & Substitute (Posted July 16, 2019)

WWS is seeking the following support positions in the Lower School:

Substitute Teacher, available 5 days per week from 10:30-3:30. This teacher will also support math in the 4th and 5th grades for 5 hours total per week.

After School Math Support, available 5 days per week from 3-4 p.m., plus 1 hour meeting time with math/class teachers.

Requirements for all these positions include a bachelors degree, some experience working with grade school aged students, and ability to pass a Maryland criminal background check. Waldorf experience is preferred. Depending on the person, some of these positions could be combined.

Eurythmist (re-posted November 1, 2018)

WWS is seeking a full-time trained pedagogical eurythmist to teach eurythmy to children in a variety of grades reaching from kindergarten to high school. Responsibilities will include teaching 14 to 16 classes per week. A piano accompanist is made available for all classes. Frequent opportunities are available for performing, guiding more advanced groups and individuals, and giving workshops for parents and staff.

Additional expectations for full-time employees include weekly full faculty and department meetings, committee work, attendance during school functions, and possible curricular trips and activities.

Interested applicants will demonstrate a commitment to the Waldorf education and be able to work in a school community with flexibility and patience. Interest in working with the theater department and drama presentations are a plus. A minimum of one year of experience teaching eurythmy is preferred. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and loving with students in addition to having an ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents.
