  • High School Open Day

    An opportunity to sit in on high school classes for middle or high school students and/or their parents. Visit four classes across the grades and disciplines; then participate in a Q & A with high school faculty members.   • Whole School Admission Tour
    8:00 am – 10:30 am

    Observation Mornings include a presentation on the philosophy and approach of Waldorf education and visits to five classes to see the Waldorf approach “in action.” The tour spans the grades, observing our youngest students in the Children’s Garden, several Lower School grades, and a class in the High School. Observation Mornings begin at 8:00 a.m. in the school library and end in the library at 10:30 following a Q & A period. These events are for adults.

  • The Golden Rules of Parenting with Louise DeForest, NEW DATE
    7:30 pm – 9:00 pm / WWS Library

    Internationally known early childhood educator, Louise DeForest, stirring reminder of basics of parenting young children. During this hectic time of year, take a moment to slow down and consider what works, and what matters most in being a parent.

    After co-founding a Waldorf School in Vermont, Louise spent many years as a kindergarten teacher and started the Farm Kindergarten at the Fellowship Community in Spring Valley, NY. After leaving full-time teaching, she worked part-time as the Early Childhood Pedagogical Director at the Rudolf Steiner School, in Manhattan. Presently, as a freelance Educational Consultant, she travels extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and Europe, teaching in teacher training programs, mentoring, evaluating or as a guest speaker.

    Louise is a member of the WECAN Board (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) and is one of two North American representatives to IASWECE (the International Association of Steiner/Waldorf Early Childhood Education). She is the happy mother of four grown children and lives when home, in western MA.
