The Washington Waldorf School welcomes visitors, and we would be delighted to get to know you. We hold a variety of open house and information events for prospective students and their families.

Observation Mornings for Parents
Observation Mornings include a presentation on the philosophy and approach of Waldorf education and visits to five classes to see the Waldorf approach “in action.” The tour spans the grades, observing our youngest students in the Children’s Garden, several Lower School grades, and a class in the High School. Observation Mornings begin at 8:00 a.m. in the school library and end in the library at 10:30 following a Q & A period. These events are for adults.

Children's Garden Open Houses for the Whole Family
Saturday, February 4, 2012
The Children’s Garden Open House for preschool and kindergarten children and their families and is morning to visit our beautiful classrooms, speak with our teachers about the Waldorf approach to early childhood education and participate in some of the typical activities of our Children’s Garden. There will be arts and crafts projects, bread baking, circle time, and the morning will end with a puppet play. This event is a good opportunity for your child to enjoy the Waldorf environment with other children. The morning begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at noon. These events are for adults and their children.
Schedule:
10:00-10:45 - Creative play for the children and conversation for adults
10:45 - Circle Time
Ongoing Activities - seasonal activities, such as bread baking, butter churning, beeswax modeling, and painting
11:45 - Puppet Play
High School Open Houses
High School Open House Days is for middle school and high school age students and their parents. The morning begins at 8:00 a.m. with a presentation about the Waldorf approach for the high school years and then offers an opportunity to sit in on a number of classes for the morning. Visitors are invited to stay for an organic lunch from Chef Eron at 12:30.

High School Open House
Fall 2012 - Dates TBD
The High School Open House is for middle school and high school age students with their families. The morning begins at 10:00 a.m. with a presentation on Waldorf education on the high school level. Then a tour of the classrooms offers opportunities for conversation with our HS faculty. Parents of WWS high school students and alumni will be available to answer your questions. The morning ends at noon with a Q & A period.
