Aftercare Program for Students in the Children’s Garden through Grade 2

We offer a “Lunch Bunch” aftercare program for students enrolled in the Seedlings, Nursery (pre-K), and kindergarten programs, as an extension of the morning programs. The “Lunch Bunch” runs from the end of the morning programs at 12:30 p.m. until general aftercare begins at 3 p.m.

Lunch Bunch (12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.):
5 days/week: $2,300. The fee does not include lunch, which must be purchased or brought from home.

The general aftercare program for students in the Children’s Garden program through grade 2 is structured to provide balance and a sense of rhythm in the afternoon. Activities include snack (provided by WWS), generous time for indoor and outdoor play, rest time, storytelling, and a special activity of the day, such as baking or beeswax modeling.

Children’s Garden – Grade 1 Aftercare (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.):
5 days/week: $1,400/semester, $2,800/full year.

After 6 p.m. Late fee of $10 plus $1/minute.

Aftercare is a carefully unstructured place for students to recharge after their busy day. The program creates and maintains a safe, wholesome community for students in grades 3-8 after the regular school day is finished at 3 p.m. Students choose to read, do homework, play outside, or participate in indoor activities such dodge ball, board games, arts and craft activities, and more. A healthy snack is provided. Located in the high school math room (across from kitchen).

Lower School Aftercare (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.):
5 days/week: $1,100/semester, $2,200/full year.

For more information about our aftercare programs or to register, contact Christen Leonard at 301-229-6107 or by email.

We are now offering "before care" on a drop-in basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. for students who need to arrive before 8 a.m. Students are supervised by an adult and they are released to go to their classrooms at 8 a.m. There is no charge for this service.
